Hypnosis Communication for the Emergency First Responder
In this engaging and informative presentation, a communications professor and paramedic works to explore hypnosis as a tool for helping distressed emergency patients.
Participants will acquire a comprehensive understanding of the latest research on hypnosis and its potential applications within an emergency setting. The session not only equips EMS workers with knowledge but also with practical skills to build rapport and establish credibility with their patients. Participants will learn how to employ hypnotic directives to stimulate the mind–body connection, thus facilitating healing. This presentation aims to enhance the efficacy of EMS workers by introducing them to innovative, non-invasive techniques to improve patient outcomes.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to identify and implement the mnemonic for the word “credible”, which represents Confidence, Rapport, Expectation, Directives, Images, Believability, Literalness, and Enthusiasm.
